← Back to simulatorWealthSimulations is a free tool that allows you to simulate your investment strategy using real historical data and future projections powered by Monte Carlo analysis.
1. Choose your simulation type
In the "Simulate your returns" section, start by selecting the type of simulation you want to run:
- Past simulation: backtest using historical data since 2004
- Future simulation: run Monte Carlo projections based on random market behaviour
2. Select your asset (ticker)
Pick the asset you'd like to simulate. This can be an ETF, stock, index, bond, or even a cryptocurrency. For example: SPY
, MSFT
, or BTC-USD
.
3. Set your investment parameters
- Monthly amount: how much you'd invest regularly
- Yearly % increase: optional increase in monthly contribution (e.g. salary raise)
- Initial investment: lump sum at the start
- Contribution type: monthly or yearly
- Starting year or number of years: depending on the simulation type
4. Run the simulation
Click on the Simulate button to run the analysis. The tool will fetch historical price data and generate a visual chart.
5. Review the results
You'll see a line chart showing your simulated portfolio over time, along with key metrics like:
- Total amount invested
- Final portfolio value
- Absolute and percentage gains
6. Try different assets or strategies
You can repeat the process with different tickers, amounts, or contribution styles to explore various investment scenarios and risks.
